Reporting to the Director, Financial Systems & Data Analytics, the Business Analyst is responsible for providing comprehensive business analysis services to enhance operations and employee experiences within corporate and hotel management teams. Key responsibilities include gathering requirements, analyzing processes, designing solutions, and supporting system projects. The position also entails managing integrations and automations between financial systems and other applications, ensuring seamless daily operations, and addressing any issues promptly. Additionally, the role requires offering daily user support, managing support tickets, and developing training materials for new users. Acting as a backup for the Director, Financial Systems & Data Analytics, the candidate will also help manage the core accounting system and reporting infrastructure.

Responsibilities and Duties:
Business Analysis and Process Improvement
- Provide business analysis services to Corporate and Hotel Management teams through requirements gathering, process analysis, design, testing, and delivery to improve operations and employee experiences.
- Research and evaluate changes to existing technologies and availability of new technologies, including AI, as they relate to the organization’s core systems and related processes.
- Propose process changes and adoption of new technologies to support functional requirements and organizational strategy, and identify opportunities for optimization and automation.
- Act as a key liaison between different groups and departments and be responsible for project coordination including facilitating meetings between project stakeholders, documenting decisions, monitoring project progress and tracking key timelines, budgets and deliverables.
- Lead initiatives to optimize file and content management using SharePoint and related tools.
- Maintain and update system and process documentation.
- Participate as a key member in system projects including upgrades and new implementations of core systems.
- Support testing activities and advise stakeholders on relevant issues.
- Stay informed on industry trends, tools, and advancements in AI and machine learning,
Process Integration Management
- Manage existing integrations between the central financial system and other systems including the payroll system and hotel property management systems.
- Manage existing automations for approval workflows, vendor invoice processing, vendor setup, capital funding requests, document management, and other processes.
- Monitor daily system integration activities and respond to issues in a timely manner.
- Coordinate with the Director, Financial Systems & Data Analytics and the Information Technology team to troubleshoot system issues and manage existing Windows/SQL servers in use by the Finance department.
- Manage SharePoint sites, lists, and file storage, ensuring smooth integration with workflows and processes.
User Support
- Provide daily support for users of the central financial system and related applications, and manage incoming tickets assigned to relevant support categories.
- Coordinate the development and provision of training documentation and tools for new users.
Financial Systems Backup
- Act as a backup for the Director, Financial Systems & Data Analytics with regards to managing the core accounting system and reporting infrastructure.

Experience, Training and Education:
- Completion of a post-secondary diploma or degree.
- 2+ years of experience in a similar role performing business analysis, requirements engineering, and process automation.
- Intermediate knowledge of business process design concepts.
- Experience building and managing workflows in Microsoft Power Automate or similar automation and integration platforms.
- Experience working with SharePoint Document Libraries and Lists and familiarity with SharePoint security concepts.
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server and general database concepts.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics Business Central or similar ERP systems.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Power Apps and Microsoft Forms.
- Basic understanding of accounting principles, internal controls, and financial concepts is an asset.
This role is not a traditional System Administrator or IT support position; it focuses on business analysis, process optimization, technology integration, and AI initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a keen interest in AI, process improvement, and business technology, with the ability to adapt and learn new tools like PowerApps, Power Automate, and AI-driven technologies.
